Christopher Coleman
LPC, LSATP | Substance Abuse Program Manager / Therapist
From the words of LL Cool J's song: "Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years" would be a statement upon my return to Youth For Tomorrow. Hello, my name is Chris Coleman, a dually licensed therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Licensed Professional Counselor & Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Provider), the Substance Abuse Program Manager, and I was an integral part of developing the substance abuse program for Youth For Tomorrow, from 2017-2019. Another hip-hop reference would be my return is like the rap group from the 1990's, EPMD: Unfinished Business. While away in my private practice, I remained in contact, observing the changes and work being done, growth & expansions, even providing some consultation here and there, yet my heart was still here.
I possess a Masters degree in Addiction Counseling and a Master's degree in professional counseling, and I have earned a degree in biblical studies. I am a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) through NAADAC (The Association for Addiction Professionals), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP/DOT). I have worked in residential, inpatient, outpatient, crisis centers, jails, prisons, locked facilities and with probation & parole. I currently serve on the state affiliate board of NAADAC, called Virginia Association of Addiction Professionals, or VAAP, as the writer of the newsletters on the communications team, and work with the Advocacy and membership team. I am also a Virginia approved Clinical Supervisor, and currently possess licenses to practice in North Carolina, Maryland, and Florida.
My career began working with at-risk youth in 1994, in a residential setting for substance use disorders, gang members, foster children and behavioral issues. My experiences and strengths are group therapy, substance use and co-occurring disorders, trauma, men's issues, depression, anxiety disorders and anger management. My theoretical approach is eclectic; however, I primarily use Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral & Dialectical Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered/Strength Based, and Schema Therapy. With that said, everything and anything I have and utilize, starts and ends with the gracious empowerment of a biblically based approach and skill, as I also provide Christian Counseling. Without The Lord leading, guiding and empowering me, I can do nothing. One of my mottos: “If it causes a problem, then it IS, a problem.” I look forward to working with you.

Specialty populations include substance abuse and mental health due to the wide spread negative stigma that is faced at the societal and at times the service level of care. Scarlete has helped individuals in treatment with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar, substance abuse and other mental health disorders through collaboration of services and by fostering a safe environment that allows for the transition of skills for healthy coping and forming agreeable cognitive patterns. Scarlete enjoys taking on an eclectic approach to counseling using a combination of evidence-based modalities that is individualized and designed specifically for the individual's needs. The goal is always for the individual to reach an optimal level of independence and wellness to be productive members in a society we all share and are responsible for.

Hi, I'm Rebecca! I received my bachelor's degree in human development and family studies, after which I obtained my master's in social work. I am a licensed master social worker and am currently under supervision to obtain my LCSW.
I have worked in various settings including crisis counseling and advocacy for those who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault and gerontology work to include end of life, coping with illness or disease, dementia and related disorders. I also have experience as a volunteer research assistant for a local nonprofit, and developed trainings for working with pregnant and new moms experiencing depression and anxiety. I am particularly interested in trauma, especially early childhood trauma, and how these experiences impact later life.
As a strong believer in person-centered care, I utilize a variety of approaches when working with clients, based on their needs and situations. Every person and experience are unique, much like therapy. I gravitate towards trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and strengths-based approaches.
I am extremely passionate about mental health and serve as an advocate to reduce the stigma surrounding it. It's already challenging to reach out for help and I work with clients to feel good about their choice. I am a therapist that is compassionate, empathetic, flexible, and above all, someone who listens.
I have lived in northern Virginia for most of my life and feel a duty to serve my community. When not caring for my family, in my spare time I volunteer with a local food pantry. I also enjoy crafting and love reading, especially anything by James Patterson.
