Chris Coleman
LPC, LSATP, MAC, CCTP, NCC | Onsite Director Adults & Adolescents & Clinical Supervisor
I have obtained two master’s degrees: Addiction Counseling and a master’s degree in professional counseling, and I have earned a degree in biblical studies, and am an ordained minister. I am a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) through NAADAC (The Association for Addiction Professionals), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), National Certified Counselor (NCC) and many other certifications and licenses. You really don’t care how much I know, yet you really want to know how much I care. My passion is driven by and through compassion and empathy for people to heal, gain strength, stability, hope and restoration.
I have worked in residential, inpatient, outpatient, crisis centers, jails, prisons, locked facilities and with probation & parole and private practice. I currently serve on the state affiliate board of Directors of NAADAC, called Virginia Association of Addiction Professionals, or VAAP, as Educational Chair. I am also a Virginia approved Clinical Supervisor. My career began working with at-risk youth in a residential setting for substance use disorders, gang members, and behavioral issues, with nearly 3 decades in the field.
My experiences and strengths are group therapy, substance use and co-occurring disorders, trauma, men’s issues, depression, mood disorders like bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, biblical/faith-based counseling, career/life changes, and anger management. My theoretical approach is integrative; however, I use and apply the theoretical approach that best suits you, the person. With that said, everything and anything I have and utilize, starts and ends with the gracious empowerment of a biblically based approach and skill: an inside/outside job. Without The Lord leading, guiding and empowering me, I can do nothing. One of my mottos: “If it causes a problem, then it IS, a problem.” I look forward to working with you.

Khilia Giacobone

Khilia Giacobone
Ph.D., LPC, CSOTP | Director of Children and Family Services
Khilia Giacobone, Ph.D., LPC, CSOTP comes to us with her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, as well as her LPC and CSOTP. She has an extensive background in the human services and mental health field, with an emphasis on providing clinical supports to the populations served. She has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for youth and families in various settings to include residential treatment settings, group homes, treatment centers, detainment facilities, as well as hospital settings. Khilia has worked within the social service arena for over 22 years, providing service to “at-risk” youth and families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia. Khilia attended Virginia Commonwealth University, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She continued her studies to pursue her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, Virginia. Khilia has her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and research interests include the impact of trauma in children and adolescents. Her dissertation research was published internationally with the hope of making a long-term impact on the reduction of childhood trauma.
Khilia comes as the Director of Children and Family Services with a wealth of knowledge within the mental health arena, as she has worked in many non-profit, private, social service, and government entities.
Khilia enjoys giving back to the community by attempting to help and understand many of the unique challenges that face society, and affect the populations served. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Khilia is an avid equestrian and shows competitively in the hunter/jumper arena along the east coast. She also enjoys opportunities to spend time with her French Bulldogs engaging in various activities from therapy work, to performance sports.
In 2016, Khilia’s certified therapy dog, Eyli Mae joined the team of helping professionals. Eyli Mae was a French Bulldog who enjoyed interacting with children and adolescents, as well as her visits to area hospitals on a routine basis. Eyli Mae passed in December of 2023, with her Therapy Dog Distinguished title, and since that time Khilia has worked to find ways in which to continue her legacy. Eyli Mae became visually impaired in 2023, and taught Khilia not to shy away from things in life that are unknown, and to continue embracing life to the fullest.
Khilia currently has five therapy dogs in practice, and is a member of Alliance of Therapy Dogs, as well as multiple dog clubs. Typically, you can find Khilia working with one of her dogs on manners and obedience. She also volunteers her time with many performance sports organizations, as a means of continuing to learn more about opportunities to engage her dogs in building animal and human interactions.
