Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor and Army veteran with a passion for helping other veterans develop an awareness and understanding about their military and post military experiences. I also have a passion to work with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, addiction, infertility, parenting struggles, and other mental health related issues. My focus is to support others and provide a safe space for individuals to express themselves in a genuine, non-judgmental environment. I utilize various approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered techniques, to encourage and support clients as they journey through the therapeutic process. I aim to meet individuals where they are at and provide encouragement and support along the way.
I received my bachelor’s degree through Old Dominion University and continued my education, earning a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling through Walden University. I firmly believe in self-care and taking care of one’s mental and physical health. In my leisure time when I am not in the office, I enjoy bodybuilding/weightlifting and listening to podcasts/motivational speakers. My favorite quote is “your current situation is not your final destination” (-Trent Shelton)

Hello and warm greetings! I am a Resident in Counseling with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I graduated with my master’s in the Fall of 2023 from the University of the Cumberlands in Southeastern Kentucky. Beginning my residency in NOVA in September 2023, I have been able to work with children through adult populations of diverse backgrounds.
Entering counseling can be daunting, especially when coming for the first time. In sessions, I aim for you to feel truly seen and heard. I aspire to empower my clients and help them to lead meaningful lives, however, that looks to you. Presence matters. The therapeutic encounter can be very unique in that it is a helping relationship meant for the healing and growth of the person seeking services. In sessions, I find joy in providing a safe space where you are valued. At times, I also utilize silence as a meaningful and powerful tool.
My primary work is with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), adjustment issues, and relationship conflicts. My approach utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and techniques from mindfulness and logotherapy. Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time in nature, going out with friends, exercising, and traveling.
In life, we can be surprised by what doors may be opened if we simply embrace the opportunity to knock.
