Standard Counseling Services Include:

Individual: This is a one-on-one therapy session between the resident and a clinical staff member.

Family Group Therapy:  This is comprised of parents/guardians and their child one week and the adults only the following week.  This rotation is usually followed with exceptions made depending on topics.

Individual Family:  Individual family sessions involve the resident, his/her parents and/or guardian and his/her assigned therapist.

Anger Management:  Through role playing, games, written assignments and more, residents are engaged in an interactive process aimed at understanding how their anger is impacting their lives and those around them.

Chemical Education Class:  The purpose is to educate residents about the dangers and risks of drugs, alcohol and smoking.

12/Step - Overcomers’ Group:  The purpose is to work through the twelve-step process, discuss chemical dependency issues, see how chemicals have had a destructive impact on their lives, and discover what recovery is, and how to stay in recovery.

SASSI-A2:  The Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory is a brief and easily administered psychological screening measure that helps identify individuals who have a high probability of having a substance abuse or dependence disorder.  This tool allows us to assess and treat residents with substance-related issues.

A.A./N.A.  This is a self-run support group held on or off campus.

Other groups may be offered depending on group need and may include topics such as Healthy Relationships, Choices, Grief & Loss, etc.
