Dr. Gary L. Jones has served Youth For Tomorrow as Chief Executive Officer for over 14 years.

Prior to coming to Youth For Tomorrow, he served as Under Secretary of the U. S. Department of Education (1982-85) and on the Fairfax County School  Board (VA) for 7 years, including over 2 years as Chairman.

Dr. Jones has served on Virginia’s State Board of Education and is a member of the National Advisory Council for the College of Education at Michigan State University.  He was  given the Virginia Education Association's highest award, the 2009 "Friend of Education" for his service on the Virginia State Board of Education and his commitment to quality education for all children. 

Dr. Jones  also serves on the Board of Directors of VAISEF (Virginia Association of Independent SpecializedEducation Facilities,  the Board of Directors of VCOPPA (Virginia Coalition of Private Providers Associations) and as Chairman of the Virginia Council forPrivate Education.   He is a member of the Prince William County (VA) Human Services Stragetic Plan Task Force.

Dr. Jones received his Bachelor of Arts  from Albion College (Mich.) and  his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Michigan State University.
