Recent Testimonials from YFT Residents
"Before arriving at Youth For Tomorrow, I was out every day doing drugs and other criminal activities. I was always busy trying to get the next high. I never spent time in school or with my brothers. Now, I have been here for about one year and I have been drug-free and have gotten my G.E.D. I know if was at home I couldn't have gotten it. I know Youth For Tomorrow doesn't get thanks alot. So I would like to thank everyone that helped make this happen for me and hundreds of other boys and girls. Thank you." --Will (age 18)
"I was on the road to destruction before coming to Youth For Tomorrow. I sold drugs, skipped school, played with guns, had many fist fights and was involved with gangs. I was disrespectful to my parents, siblings and elders. Since I have been at YFT, I know I have changed because I no longer have physical confrontations because I have learned how to talk about my problems instead of acting them out. I have also learned that fighting, being disrespectful and being involved in gangs is not a way to solve my problems. As for my parents, I am no longer disrespectful and I listen to what they have to say. Scripture and Youth For Tomorrow has taught me to "honor thy mother and father for thy days should be longer." --Omesa (age 16)
"Before I came to Youth For Tomorrow, I used to physically fight with my mother. I had a bad attitude and did not respect authority figures. I have changed since coming to YFT because I have learned how to talk out my problems with my mother. I am working on building a better relationship with my mother with the help of my counselor." --Marianne (age 16)
