YOUTH FOR TOMORROW

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are based on our intake process which determines the appropriateness of the child for the YFT program.  We provide a residential program serving boys and girls who have intense educational and school conduct problems, legal, behavioral or emotional problems such as: depression, anxiety, oppositional/defiant behavior, lying, stealing;  poor social skills, issues related to past abuse, poor anger management, poor self-esteem, etc.  Children exhibiting more severe problems will be evaluated on an individual and case-by-case basis.

A parent or legal guardian must complete all parts of the Admissions application.  Once all documents are received (see Admissions Requirements Checklist), they are reviewed by our Admissions Team.

If the child is found to be an appropriate candidate for the YFT program, he/she and their parent/guardian will be invited to interview with us to discuss the program and placement.  Listed below are the general eligibility criteria for
our admissions process:

Eligibility for Admissions

Standard Program:  Boys and Girls ages 11-17

Independent Living Program (ILP):  ages 17-20

GED Students

Psychological Evaluation (not more than one year old),
Progress Reports and Discharge Summaries

A minimum IQ score of 75

Individual Education Plan (IEP) Eligibility

Proof of Insurance

Custody Status Documentation

Following the interview, a decision on admission will be made, and as appropriate, a date for admission will be established.  Admission is generally accomplished within two weeks following the interview.
